Earth Rocks

We will learn the definition and importance of geology. We will look through Earthplace’s rock collection and rocks on the property. We will also use mineral and hardness tests to help classify rocks and discover what rocks are used for in our community.

Into the Wild

On your visit to our nature center, we will enjoy a trail walk. On the walk we will watch birds, and other animals and note if there are any animals that just live in our area. On our walk we will also discover producers, consumers and decomposers as well at the importance of aquatic ecosystems.
Meets Requirements 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, and 9.

Into the Woods

We will learn all about trees and their importance in our ecosystem. We will learn to identify 4 different common trees in our area and what classification that they belong to. By looking at the trees, we will determine how animals use the trees.
