About Me

I am the largest and most common hawk in North America.
I like to perch on streetlights, dead tree limbs, and phone poles.

Sounds Like

The piercing screech used to represent eagles in movies.

Did you know?

Red-tailed hawks mate for life and reuse the same nest each year, adding new sticks until it grows to about 3 feet wide.

How You Can Help

Hawks can die from eating poisoned rodents, which are easy prey. Switch to snap traps instead of rodenticide.
