The Nest

Children between the ages of 6 weeks and 2 years can attend The Nest.

The Nest has a maximum capacity of 8 children each day, and the minimum acceptable staff to child ratio, which will be maintained at all times, is 1 to 4.

The Nest is a 12-month program, which runs August-August. The classroom is open daily from 8:00am-6:00pm, with three scheduling options:

  • Monday - Friday
  • Monday / Wednesday / Friday
  • Tuesday / Thursday

Please be advised that how you choose to utilize the classroom hours on your scheduled days will not affect your tuition in any way - we do not offer reduced hours for reduced tuition.

For more information, please see the program calendar and tuition and fees document.

A typical day in The Nest includes…

  • indoor free-play
  • guided music and movement
  • teacher-guided art, cooking, or science activity
  • outdoor free-play
  • naptime
  • breakfast, morning snack, lunch, and afternoon snack

The Nest strives to create a classroom community where we listen to, respect, and support our Nest families. The children engage in play-based, developmentally appropriate activities so they learn while they have fun! Our Nest teachers are very loving, caring, and nurturing, and are responsive to the needs of all our children - we follow their lead and practice the whole-child approach. We promote and encourage the children to be independent whenever possible so they can begin to gain a sense of autonomy.

Some big picture goals of The Nest include:

  • promoting independence with everyday chores, feedings, and tasks
  • spatial awareness
  • social skills
  • self-regulation
  • problem-solving skills
  • language acquisition, including Sign Language
