Programs for Brownies are one hour long.

Dive into the world of bugs! Create a poster to help spread the “bug” bug to your friends, create a bug to take home, and search high and low for bugs in their habitats.

Be a friend to the environment and to your fellow scouts! Learn how to keep the forest clean, build a safe campfire, and to enjoy the outdoors while respecting the wildlife who live there.

Stop to smell the flowers, listen to the birds singing, and get to know a tree by touch! The forest is a feast for the senses, and we will explore them all using nature as our guide.

Get ready for nature games and exploration! We’ll have fun outside, play in the forest, and learn new outdoor skills.
Programs for Juniors are 1.5 hours long.

Learn about the wild animals that call Connecticut home while meeting some of Earthplace’s animal ambassadors. Explore different animal habitats around Earthplace and find out who lives by the pond, under a log, or in a vernal pool. Become a naturalist and help protect the homes of our wild friends with a special project.

Bring out your inner gardener and explore the gardens of Earthplace! Search for pollinators, flowers, and the things they need to survive, then use your green thumb to design a garden for birds, butterflies, and more. We will also investigate seeds, how they travel, and what is inside them to help them grow into a plant.
*Note: Earthplace will help your troop complete Steps 1, 2, 3, and 4. Guidance will be provided for Step 5. For an additional fee, scouts may plant and bring home their own mini garden. This badge may be selected from April through October.
**Extra charge associated with this program

What kind of flowers can you find around Earthplace? Can you decipher a message delivered in “flower code”? Learn who relies on flowers, how to help them grow, and how to have fun like a botanist.
*Note: This badge may be selected from April through October.

Let the beauty of the forest inspire you! Walk the trails of the Earthplace wildlife sanctuary and search for tools and inspiration, explore the music of bird song, and create an eco-masterpiece using materials provided by nature.
