CT Wildlife Action Plan Newsletter

Earthplace Featured in the CT Wildlife Action Plan Newsletter!

Earthplace was featured by the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (CT DEEP) in their Summer 2026 Partner Network Newsletter!

The newsletter highlights an ongoing five-year moth survey, led by local lepidopterist Lukas Keras, across our 62-acre sanctuary. This study has documented 253 species of Lepidoptera so far, including rare sightings such as the Huckleberry Sphinx moth. This important research supports the Connecticut Wildlife Action Plan by tracking local biodiversity and monitoring key species.

We're proud of how our community events, including our annual Moth Ball, and ongoing citizen science projects continue to make a positive impact on local conservation.
