Meet Artemis, our majestic red-tailed hawk who joined Earthplace in early 2020. She was found by the side of the road with fractures in her left wing that left her permanently unable to fly.

As an ambassador for her species, Artemis helps educate people about red-tailed hawks and the importance of wildlife conservation.

Her rescue story underscores the dangers that wild birds face every day. Major risks include vehicle collisions, habitat loss, and secondary poisoning from consuming prey that has ingested toxic chemicals, such as rodenticides.
