Meet Mocha, one of our resident green frogs and longtime roommate to fellow frog Matcha. Mocha was born right here at Earthplace and has grown into a cautious little hopper with a talent that keeps her keepers on their toes: she is an escape artist.

Mocha is the shyer of the two frogs, but don’t let that fool you—she has incredible aim. Once, while being transferred for routine care, Mocha launched herself from her keeper’s hands, used their forehead as a springboard, and executed an unforgettable getaway leap. (She was retrieved safely, with no hard feelings.)

Most days, though, Mocha prefers to tuck herself into a good resting spot and quietly observe the comings and goings of her neighbors—Woody and Liu, the turtles who share their terrarium. And when it’s feeding time? Mocha comes alive. She loves bugs more than anything, and her enthusiasm at mealtime is always a highlight.
