A: At Earthplace Summer Camp, we prioritize nature discovery. Our staff are experienced in nature education and encourage campers to explore new frontiers. We set safe boundaries within which campers are free and inspired to adventure in their own way at their own pace and to get dirty in the process.

A: Regardless of weather, our days are spent outside getting dirty! Camp is always filled with hands-on nature discovery.

A: Earthplace summer camp will offer prorated tuition for current camp registrations where campers will still be attending school, due to the impact of snow days. Please consider donating your prorated camp tuition to Earthplace. Donations are tax-deductible, and even a small contribution can make a meaningful difference for the animals, programs, and families we serve throughout the year.

A: We still play outside! Rain is nature too, and it’s a great opportunity for campers to explore being safe and comfortable outside in various conditions. If there is thunder, lightning or high winds, campers will stay inside and interact with the animals, conduct science experiments, create nature art or any number of engaging indoor activities. If there is a heat advisory or low air quality, campers do go outside, but for a limited time.

A: If your child has an allergy that requires medication to be present, you must provide the medication and upload the doctor’s authorization form and action plan to CampDoc. Medications must be in their original package with the original prescription label. Please make sure all medications are up to date by checking their expiration dates.

A: Earthplace has a long history of including children with special education and special healthcare needs in all of our programs. At Earthplace, children with special needs are included in all programs. The key to a successful experience is transparent communication with families. During the registration process and prior to your child’s summer camp start date, please schedule a meeting with our administration team so that we can plan for a successful camp experience. Please note: If your child’s IEP or 504 plan includes a 1:1 aide, then a 1:1 aide must be provided for the child at the parent’s expense. Complete this form to give permission to share the 504 plan with Earthplace Summer Camp and then email the camp director to discuss how we can best assist at summercamp@earthplace.org.

A: Please apply bug spray before dropping off your camper. Counselors visually scan the children after they’ve been in the woods, and we ask parents to do a tick check every evening. If a child is brought to the nurse with a tick, she will remove it and save it so parents can take it for testing if they wish.

A: To have a fun-filled day, be sure to pack the following for camp:

• Closed-toed shoes with socks, no sandals or Crocs!
• Weather-appropriate clothing and an extra change of clothes
• Reusable water bottle labeled with your child's name
• Allergen-free lunch (refer to Parent Handbook) and a snack (packed in separate bags)
• Sunscreen and bug spray
  • On the medications page of our online CampDoc registration portal, the last question asks, 'Are there any other Non-Prescription Topical Medications that you request to be periodically administered to your child by our staff?'
    • If you respond YES, this is where you can add bug spray and/or sunblock.

A: Please register carefully. We will not issue refunds; however, you can purchase insurance through CampDoc when you register, and we encourage you to do so.

In the event we must close due to causes beyond our reasonable control, refunds will not be issued.

A: Earthplace is now using the online portal CampDoc for all camper registrations and required forms. After registering your child online you will find a profile that must be completed for each child before they are allowed to begin camp. All forms are included in the online profile. A: Registration opens for Earthplace members at 8am on January 2, 2026.
