Family Programs


Group Canoe Paddle: 

Our canoe paddles are a great way to spend an afternoon on the water
with family or friends!
Bring the whole family on our first Group Canoe
Paddle of the year! We will travel along the Saugatuck River in search of
egrets, osprey, ducks,
shorebirds and much more! Canoes and personal
flotation devices (required for all participants) are included! Space is
limited and advanced registration
is strongly recommended.

Members: $24 per person, $12 for children 12 and under
Non-members: $30 per person, $15 for children 12 and under.

Family Campfire:

Join us as we gather ‘round as the sun goes down for a little old-fashioned
family fun as we roast marshmallows next to a crackling fire along with a guided night walk, a visit from a nocturnal animal and more – it will be an evening
the whole family will love!

Foraging 101: A Guide to Foraging Wild Edibles

You don’t have to have a garden to eat from the land. Join us on a foraging
expedition throughout our sanctuary in search of naturally growing specimens
that you can harvest and eat. Learn about wild foods in the natural world that
surrounds us and at the end of our session we will sample some of what we have collected– it will be an educational and delicious excursion! Spaces are limited
and advance registration is required.

Wildflower Identification:

Identify local wildflowers as we go for a stroll through the gardens and to the meadow with a naturalist.
