    Story with Animal

    Join us in Natureplace for an animal-themed story followed by an encounter with one of our Animal Hall residents.

  • Animal Hall Feeding

    Here's your chance to have Earthplace staff answer all your questions while giving some of our animals their daily meals. See what a blue jay eats and why a bearded dragon eats something different. Get to know a rabbit's favorite snacks and see the guinea pigs munch away at their hay.

  • Vacation Day Program

    April 12th, 2017, 8:00 AM — 6:00 PM

    When schools are closed, Earthplace is open! We have full day, half day, early drop-off and extended day options for kids age 3 through grad 5. Enjoy days off with fun and educational themed activities each day. Snack is provided to all groups; participants must bring a lunch.

    Animals in Winter: Learn the cold weather habits of different animals.  
    Monday, January 16
    Snow: Every snowflake is unique. We’ll observe this phenomenon in the snow around us, or we’ll make some of our own.
    Friday, February 17
    Animal Signs: Join us on the hunt for scat, footprints and other evidence that animals have been in the sanctuary.
    Monday, February 20
    Herbivores: Discover the animals that only eat plants.
    Tuesday, February 21
    Carnivores: Explore the animals that eat just meat.
    Wednesday, February 22
    Omnivores: Learn about the animals that eat meat and plants, just like us.
    Thursday, February 23
    Decomposers: Find out all about the animals that help us turn waste into soil.
    Friday, February 24
    Plants: Investigate plants and learn how they make their own food.
    Monday, April 10
    Vernal Pools: Only in spring can we see all that inhabits vernal pools.
    Tuesday, April 11
    Field Ecosystem: Grab a net, and see what we can catch in the field.
    Wednesday, April 12
    Stream: With our rainboots on we’ll wade in the stream discovering what animals prefer living in the moving water.
    Thursday, April 13
    Forest: We’ll search the trees for the different animal signs hidden there.
    Friday, April 14
    Pond: We’ll head into the woods to investigate the critters living in the still water of our pond.
